Which candidates and political issues are getting the most attention from the Internet community in the run-up to the presidential election in France this year? Using Attentio.com technology, fr.2007.com will publish daily snapshots and trend charts in an attempt to shed some light on the issue. The site has been set up by Anders Gjøen (Ignitas’ Legal Councel and also an advisor to Attentio) with the kind help of the guys at Attentio. Except for the content itself this is yet another case demonstrating the power of social media and the raison d’être for tools like Attentio.

[…] Attentio has already shown it can be a powerful tool to look at political polls in an alternative way. To follow-up on the experiments already performed with measuring election buzz in France and Belgium, Ignitas has helped political analyst Dag Petter Svendsen set up a similar blog (www.kommunevalget2007.no) for the Norwegian local elections to take place in September. Like with the blogs doing this in Belgium and France, the Kommunevalget20007 blog has also already caused some media interest. It was the number two story in NRK Dagsnytt (equivalent to BBC Radio News headlines) this morning and was also covered on Text -TV (see illustration). Well done to Dag Petter who was interviewed on the potential significance of bloggers’ buzz on elections. […]
